After 13 years in the wine business doing this and that (retail, restaurant, wholesale on the mean streets of New York), I finally took the plunge into underemployment in order to go back to school. (And do the writing projects I’ve been meaning to get to for years.) I started taking science and Plant Science courses as prerequisites to applying to Cornell to do a Viticulture program in their Graduate Field of Horticulture. (And yes, I know what Dorothy Parker said about horticulture. But thanks for asking).
But then the plan morphed, and now we are shopping for houses in Southern Vermont and figuring out how we can turn the beautiful 60-acre Vermont hillsides where I grew up back into a farm. This blog is where I write about what and how I love to eat and drink with friends and family. I am thinking about working on another blog (www.newterroir.com) where I will write about my deeper thoughts on wine.
